Decisions from Hearings
Conduct hearings are held where a NISCC Registrant is suspected of misconduct and NISCC investigations have established sufficient evidence to progress the case. The Conduct Committee is made up of five members who have an interest or background in the social care sector but take decisions in the public interest. Three of the Committee members are lay members. Options open to the Committee are admonishment, suspension or removal of the Registrant from the Register.
Registrants who are the subject of a Conduct Hearing will receive written confirmation from NISCC within seven days of the hearing conclusion. A notice of the decision made at the hearing will normally be placed on the NISCC website within one week of the hearing conclusion.
