Presented by Lisa Morrison, Lisa Morrison Training & Consultancy and Deirdre McKenna, Social Worker this seminar will present to attendees the nature and practice of evidence-based safety planning and help them build confidence in being with people in distress and at risk of suicide.
Deirdre and Lisa draw on their personal and professional experiences and knowledge to share practical ideas about being with people in distress. They will highlight the importance of self-awareness, reflective practice and honouring our values. Meaningful safety planning for people in mental health services will be discussed. Pointers will be shared on what can be helpful for all involved to ensure this is a collaborative process informed by human rights. Myths and stigma around suicide will be touched on, and the role of safety planning for everybody highlighted.
