NISCC Synergy Project

NISCC Synergy Project

NISCC would like to make sure that all our staff have the opportunity to engage with social care workers and people who use social care services.

We think it is important that absolutely everyone who works in NISCC can see first-hand how important social care is.

To help us do this we consulted service users, carers, employers and NISCC staff and our Synergy Project was formed.

We planned three Synergy visits:

  • Kilcreggan Supported Living and Day Opportunities in Carrickfergus
  • South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust Domiciliary Care Service in Newtownards
  • Mindwise Resource Centre in Belfast

NISCC would like to extend its gratitude to the Employers who participated in the project.

Our 1st Synergy visit to Kilcreggan Supported Living and Day Opportunities went ahead on 7th December. Five members of NISCC staff attended: Peter (Reception), Gareth (Database Development), Sam (Registration Processing), Laura and Lisa (Fitness to Practise). Staff helped prepared for the Christmas Fair, they worked and enjoyed learning about life at Kilcreggan.

Pauline, Angela, and the rest of the team and the service users at Kilcreggan gave the NISCC staff a warm welcome and included them in all their activities of the day.

Today NISCC staff took time out to hear more about why it is important for us all to take the opportunity to be involved with Synergy and we heard from those who went to Kilcreggan:

NISCC will be arranging further Synergy visits throughout 2017. Would you be willing to have a small number of NISCC staff visit you and learn about your organisation? We believe that what you show us will help us understand the social care role. The more we as an organisation learn from and engage with you the better service we can deliver to you.
