The Stand Up for Social Work Society at Ulster University

is committed to supporting community engagement projects and building positive, sustainable relationships with local communities and charities.

This years  Stand Up for Social Work Society’s Christmas project is supporting a local food bank operated by the Churches Trust, entitled ‘The Pantry Project’. The Society is working in partnership with UUSU and Churches Trust to address the issue of food poverty within the local communities.

They collected produce for 90 Christmas food hampers to help families in the North West.

Professor Paul Carmichael (Faculty Dean) commended the students

'To have amassed sufficient produce to fill some 90 (ninety) hampers is remarkable - and that the students stayed so late to individually wrap and decorate each hamper is illustrative of the care and forethought with which they have approached their voluntary endeavours, all the more impressive given assignment deadlines.'

NISCC congratulate you all on this great achievement!
