NIASW World Social Work Day Celebration

To help celebrate World Social Work Day, NIASW is hosting a free event entitled: ‘Building Resilient Communities: The Social Work Role’. The event will take place at Belfast Castle, on Tuesday, 20 March 2018, from 9.30am – 1.pm.

A range of topics will be discussed including:

  • The Statutory Agency’s Role in Community Development – Sean Holland, Chief Social Work Officer, Department of Health
     
  • Rethinking resilience, communities and borders for social work during and after political conflicts – Dr Reima Ana Maglajlic, University of Sussex
     
  • Collaborative Communities: Communities in Need – Dawn Shaw, Action for Children
     
  • Putting the community back into community social work; Learning from CLARE – Mandy Cowden, Gretta Thompson, and Moyra Wylie, CLARE Project
