The NISCC Standards of Conduct and Practice became effective from 1st November 2015, and replace the code of Practice for Social Care Workers and Employers of Social Care Workers, first published in 2002. This week we look at why we updated the standards. We have updated the language used in the standards to reflect the language that we now use in current policy and practice. We have also added a number of additional standards we consider to be important in the context of day to day practice, for example, ensuring that the care that is provided is compassionate and considerate, that we are open and honest with people when things go wrong and that our use of social media is compatible with professional standards.
What’s new in the NISCC Standards?
