The Northern Ireland Social Care Council is responsible for registering social workers and social care workers, for regulating their education, training and practice and for investigating and dealing with allegations about social workers and social care workers.
About the role
By acting as Legal Adviser to our Registration and Fitness to Practise Committees, you will ensure that proceedings before a Committee are conducted fairly, and will advise the Committee on questions of law. You will also be responsible for the drafting of the Committees’ determinations and reasons.
You must be a solicitor or barrister with not less than 10 years’ post-qualifying experience. Additionally, you must have at least one year’s experience within the last three years of acting as a legal adviser to a health care regulatory Committee. You must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of up to date case law and a good understanding of the importance of NISCC in public protection.
