The Social Care Employment Academy (SCEA) is a new training programme, designed in partnership with the Social Care Council and Belfast City Council, to help local employers recruit new staff for over 100 social care jobs.
The Academy is open to anyone living in the Belfast City Council
area, currently out of work or working less than 16 hours a week. Participants will take part in a two-week training programme to give them the skills needed to begin a career in health and social care.
The programme will provide sector specific employability skills including: work observational visits, application form and CV writing workshops and interview preparation. It will also cover training for a range of part-time and full-time vacancies roles including; care assistants, care workers, domiciliary care workers and support workers.
Every participant, that completes the SCEA, will be guaranteed a job interview for a role that best suits their circumstances. The first Academy, which will provide training for 36 participants, will take place from 3 – 14 December 2018. Further Academies will take place in 2019.
