Career Goals explored at Skills NI

‘Skills Northern Ireland 2018’ has proved to be an overwhelming success, with its annual extravaganza of careers, jobs, skills and apprenticeship events, giving over 8,000 young people the opportunity to explore future skills and get work ready through a number of interactive and inspiring learning experiences.

Social Care Council staff, along with a number of its Ambassadors and representatives from eight social care employers, were present for the recent two-day fair held at the Titanic Exhibition Centre, Belfast.

Directly engaging with around 1,200 secondary level school children, about careers within Social Work and Social Care, experts provided advice and guidance about how to carve a career out of social work and social care and make a difference to those in need!

The free two-day event, was aimed at ensuring 14-19 year olds get the best possible start to their careers, whether they choose to go on to college/university or embark on an apprenticeship, choosing the right career is the first step to determining what  further learning they need to get there.

If you want to get more information about a career within Social Work or Social Care or would like one of our Ambassadors to visit your organisation or school then please email
