Embracing Diversity and Tackling Hate Crime

The Northern Ireland Social Care Council would like to invite you to our next Lunchtime Seminar: Embracing Diversity and Tackling Hate Crime, presented by Stephen Caldwell and Ian McGlade from the Probation Board for Northern Ireland and John McCloskey, Head of Religious and Integrated studies from Shimna Integrated School.

This seminar will outline PBNI’s approach to tackling Hate Crime and embracing diversity.

Stephen Caldwell will outline the development of PBNI’s policy on hate crime, the accepting differences intervention and our work with partners to tackle hate crime.

Area Manager Ian McGlade will introduce a preventative and early intervention project demonstrated by students from Shimna Integrated College. He will emphasise the importance of working with young people at the earliest stages in order to build understanding, acceptance and to challenge prejudice within society.

John McCloskey Head of Religious and Integrated studies from Shimna Integrated School will provide a background to the project and the student’s innovative approach to develop awareness into the many multicultural beliefs within Northern Ireland.
