Social Care Council wins Gold Investors in People award for wellbeing

19 January 2023

The Northern Ireland Social Care Council is celebrating Gold accreditation for their commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of their staff, following an independent assessment from Investors in People (IIP).

The We invest in Wellbeing, Gold accreditation, says that an organisation has got a good wellbeing strategy in place which is clearly supported by everyone. It also confirms that people understand and support each other’s mental health.

Helping to improve the overall wellbeing of its employees has been a particular focus for the Social Care Council as it navigated maintaining a healthy mind and workplace focused on wellbeing as agile working grew.

Patricia Higgins, CEO for the Social Care Council, commented:

“Working together is what makes us stand out as an employer. The pandemic saw a need to protect employee welfare, as well monitor how the team could work safely together – be that if their workplace was in the office or at home. We ensured that our processes and policies to support this were employee first. We are thrilled that our efforts, especially of our staff, have been recognised. We are proud to receive this accreditation.”

Paul Devoy, CEO of Investors in People, added:

“We’d like to congratulate the Social Care Council. The Gold accreditation on We Invest in Wellbeing is a fantastic effort for any organisation, and places the Social Care Council in fine company with a host of organisations that understand the value of looking after each other.”
