Industrial action update

20 September 2023

Due to a period of strike action across health and social care organisations on Thursday 21 September and Friday 22 September, members of the public and registrants will experience longer waiting times when calling our phone lines or when contacting us by email. Our ability to facilitate attendance to our office by appointment will also be limited during this time period for registrants and members of the public. We can still be contacted using our online enquiry form.

This does not affect our online portal services and registrants can continue to make payments of fees or submit renewal applications online.

Registrants can read the Social Care Council’s position as a regulator on industrial action on its website. This also applies to the latest period of industrial action.

You’ll also find lots of helpful resources on our website that can help answer your questions.

We apologise for any inconvenience.

System alert – Public Facing Register

We are aware of a technical issue affecting a number of registrants who are unable to view their registration status on the Public Register Facing Register (the Register). Employers are also experiencing this when they are using the Register to look up the details of registrants. We are working to resolve this. Affected registrants should continue to work whilst their record on the Register is updated. If any further information is required by an individual registrant or employer, please email: registration@niscc.hscni.net.
