The Northern Ireland Social Care Council (the Social Care Council) is encouraging the nomination of social workers in Northern Ireland for the Regional Social Work Awards 2025, recognising those social workers who have made significant positive contributions to their community and the profession.
The regional awards, which are being hosted by the Western Health and Social Care Trust (Western Trust), will take place on Wednesday 26th March 2025 at the Manor House Hotel, Enniskillen.
The awards will celebrate the unique identity, diversity, vibrancy, care and commitment of social workers.
Nominations for the awards can be made for individual social workers and social work teams working in all types of services across the statutory, voluntary, education and criminal justice sectors, as well as social workers working in training, and independent social workers. The BASW NI Outstanding Achievement Award is open to social workers in the service or who have retired.
Patricia Higgins, CEO, Social Care Council, said: “In the current climate, it is more important than ever that we come together to recognise great practice and great people in the field of social work.
“If you have been supported by a social worker, who has gone above and beyond the call of duty, why not nominate them for an award and help them receive the recognition they deserve.”
When making nominations, service users, carers or employers should demonstrate the positive contribution made by the nominees and show how their work involves and benefits people who use social work services.
