CANCELLED: Enhancing Effective Social Care - Supporting Professional Resilience - Free Workshops for the Social Care Workforce

05 March 2020

Are you a social care worker, supervisor or manager keen to develop professional resilience skills? Working in social care is rewarding but it can also be challenging, requiring a range of personal qualities including patience, understanding, tolerance and resilience.

During the full day workshop attendees will be introduced to a framework that will enable them to engage more easily with people they support, respond to challenging situations, change habitual patterns of thought and behaviour, produce positive outcomes for service users and carers.  It will help attendees respond to the pressures of everyday life as well as creating strategies to ‘bounce back’ when things get tough.

Free to attend – the Supporting Professional Resilience workshops are facilitated by the Social Care Council and funded by the Department of Health. Five full day workshops will run across NI from 1st April to mid May 2020.

•       200 places in total are available for front line social care workers and supervisors over 4 key dates.
•       50 places are available for the social care manager’s workshop on 7th May 2020.

During the seminar attendees will learn how to:

•       Manage their emotional state in a challenging or stressful situation.
•       Develop the art of asking key questions to turn ‘issues’ into achievable ‘outcomes’.
•       Continually improve performance.
•       Develop an awareness of the main building blocks of thought and experience.
•       Use body language to establish and maintain good working relationships.
•       Shift viewpoints to develop the most effective next move in any interaction.
•       Develop support systems.

The motivation to learn, stretch yourself and have a lot of fun in the process is absolutely essential!
