The Northern Ireland Social Care Council (the Social Care Council) is hosting Information Sessions based around the review of National Occupational Standards (NOS), currently taking place and due to be completed by the end of 2025.
National Occupational Standards describe the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to do a particular job to a nationally recognised level of competence.
Work is being undertaken across the UK to review the NOS for Health and Social Care (HSC) and Children’s Care Learning and Development (CCLD).
The Social Care Council wants to engage with social care practitioners to:
- share what has been achieved and findings so far
- ensure that the NOS are current and reflect and support best practice
- make sure that the NOS reflect current practice priorities
- ensure gaps in the NOS are identified and addressed
- take on board recommendations from those working in social care.
There will be two engagement sessions across Northern Ireland. Just visit our events page to discover more and reserve your place.
