The new Northern Ireland Social Care Council App has been released on Android and Apple App stores.
The App is a free tool that is being designed to help registered social care practitioners and social workers in managing their Social Care Council registration. It works with the Social Care Council’s My Portal to provide registrant information and send notifications related to registration renewals and other important updates.
During this release users are able to log onto their account on My Portal to view their account information, make a payment, view standards and policies, link to the Learning Zone, check out the latest news, podcasts and events and download resources and guides are available.
The additional functionality of paying a fee and uploading identity documentation will support registration renewal in a simple and secure way.
The Social Care Council will kick off an awareness campaign later in July to promote the App to registrants and the public.
Top tips for using our App
- You can download the App by accessing the App on your device, or depending if you are using Android or Apple devices, see appropriate links below:
- When you first log on to the App you will be asked to create a log in which includes a six-digit code. It is important that you choose a code you will remember as you cannot access the App without it.
- Log in regularly not to miss an update.
- Once logged in always check that the personal information we hold for you is up to date – you can make changes to this on the App.
- Once logged on to the App, if your ‘My Dashboard’ shows a registration fee is outstanding, you can make your payment through the App.
This first phase is an opportunity for the Social Care Council to showcase the App and consider any feedback received to support its development. Future releases will include changes based on feedback.
This an exciting development for the registered social care practitioners, social care managers, social work students and qualified social workers, and it is hoped they will reap the benefits of using it.
