Date: 6th October 2026
Time: 12noon - 1.30pm

Join us for a lunchtime seminar presented by Nikki Foster-Moreira, Social Farming & Innovation Programme Manager, exploring how working family farms are creating meaningful opportunities for people who access social care services.
Social Farming brings people together on working farms to build skills, confidence, and community connection. This session will give you a grounded understanding of how the model works, the difference it makes for individuals and communities, and how it can complement the social care services and support pathways you already work with.

By the end of the session, you will be able to define Social Farming and its core principles, recognise the benefits for individuals, families, communities, and farm hosts, and understand how Social Farming supports wellbeing, inclusion, and person-centred practice. You will also be able to identify the range of opportunities available in Northern Ireland and consider how Social Farming can integrate with existing social care provision.
This session is open to social workers, social care practitioners, managers, commissioners, students, and anyone with an interest in innovative, community-based approaches to supporting people to live meaningful and connected lives. Join us to discover how farms are becoming places of growth, learning, inclusion, and opportunity.
