We understand that as social workers and social care workers you may be feeling anxious about Novel coronavirus (Covid-19).
Across NI and the UK, public health organisations, government health officials and employers are putting in place plans to ensure that people receive the right advice, care and support and have the best information, environment and equipment to do their job.
The Northern Ireland Social Care Council supports our social work and social care registrants to deliver better, safer care by setting the standards they need to meet to act in the best interests of people who use social work and social care services.
We encourage our registrants, working in partnership with each other, healthcare colleagues and people using services, to use their professional judgement to assess risk to deliver safe care informed by any relevant guidance and the values and principles set out in their professional standards.
Should the virus spread further, social workers and social care workers are likely to face an increased burden in providing care and support through the outbreak. It’s important that during this time everyone follows national public health advice and guidance.
