launch of the newly revised health and social care vocational qualifications

The Northern Ireland Social Care Council (the Social Care Council) online (via Zoom) for the launch of the newly reviewed Health and Social Care vocational qualifications, aligned to the Care in Practice (CiP) Framework, on Wednesday, 19 August 2026 from 9.30am to 12.00pm.

Please note, this online event replaces the in-person event at the Dunsilly Hotel, which has now been cancelled.

The event marks an important step in strengthening and supporting the social care workforce in Northern Ireland. The Care in Practice Framework promotes a workforce that is confident, skilled and recognised for delivering safe, effective and person-centred care and support.

The session will bring together colleagues from across the sector, including employers, practitioners, training providers and partners, to explore the updated qualification standards and how they can be embedded in practice to support workforce development, improve outcomes, and enable progression from entry level through to leadership.

You can make a difference in shaping a workforce that is capable, confident and valued.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information on how to join the event.
