Lunchtime Seminar - From paper to people: Collaborative support planning in practice

Venue: Online
Date: 13th October 2026
Time: 12noon - 1.30pm

Join us for this interactive Lunchtime Seminar delivered by Chris Meneilly from the Centre for Independent Living NI (CILNI).

Support planning is at the heart of effective self-directed support. This session explores how to move beyond forms and paperwork to create meaningful, outcomes-focused support plans that genuinely reflect the wishes, strengths and aspirations of the individual.

Drawing on CILNI’s extensive experience supporting people, families, carers, practitioners and organisations across Northern Ireland, the training reflects real-life practice in self-directed support and independent living.

Participants will come away with the ability to:

  • Understand the role of support planning within the self-directed support process.
  • Identify personal outcomes, strengths and support networks.
  • Develop confidence in facilitating collaborative planning conversations.
  • Recognise the importance of co-production and partnership working.
