Join us for an informative Lunchtime Seminar focusing on preparing staff for the launch of the revised Mental Health Order (1986) Code of Practice, and explore what this means for professionals working within mental health and social care settings.
Delivered by Charmaine McNally (Social Care Lead, Social Work Mental Health and Disability Directorate, Strategic Planning and Performance Group) and Steph Kerr (Service Manager for Mental Capacity Act and Approved Social Work Services, BHSCT), the seminar will provide practical guidance on the updated processes, strengthen understanding of accountability and governance arrangements and also highlighting the importance of a rights-based approach in decision-making.
Attendees will also gain insight into the integration of the Mental Capacity Act (NI) 2016, interagency collaboration, and the key documentation required when carrying out duties under the Mental Health Order.
This session is ideal for social work and social care staff looking to stay informed and compliant ahead of the code’s implementation.
