Identity documentation - additional information

One form of valid photographic ID from the list below:

  • Passport
  • Driver’s licence
  • Electoral card
  • National ID card

Plus

One from the following:

  • Birth certificate
  • Marriage certificate
  • Adoption certificate
  • Certificate of British nationality
  • Secondary school leaving certificate (Indian applicants only),
  • Naturalisation certificate (from any country)

Qualified Social Worker: if you are applying as a QSW you will also need to provide a copy of your qualification certificate in addition to the required photo ID and birth or marriage certificate.

*PLEASE NOTE: all ID provided must be photocopies (we do not accept originals) and you must have your ID verified (signed and dated) by your employer/line manager before being submitted to the Northern Ireland Social Care Council.

If you do not have a valid birth or marriage certificate

If the applicant does not have any of the above documents, the verifier must see the originals and photocopies of FIVE of the following documents (one if each type) listed below:

  • P45/P60 (issued within the past 12 months)
  • Bank or building society
  • Utility bill (not mobile phone)
  • Valid TV licence (issued within the past 12 months)
  • Credit card statement (issued within the past three months)
  • Mortgage statement (issued within the past 12 months)
  • Work permit or visa (issued within the past 12 months)
  • Correspondnce/documentation from the benefits agency, employment
  • Service or the inland revenue (issued within the past three months
  • Valid vehicle registration document
  • Court summons (issued within the past 12 months)
  • Valid NHS card
  • Addressed payslip (one from previous three months)
  • National insurance number card
  • Exam certificate (e.g. G.C.S.E, N.VQ)
  • Child benefit book (issued within the past 12 months)
  • 60+ or senior (65+) smart pass issues by translink
  • yLink card issued by Translink
