The Individual Assessment Route (IAR) to PiP Professional Awards provides the social worker with a choice of how to present their learning for assessment. IAR offers the opportunity to engage in self-directed professional development that does not involve formal teaching. It is self-paced, allowing individuals to undertake the learning at a time and place that suits and learning can be tailored to suit the job role, to reflect on the work that they are involved in.
This option will suit social workers who want to gain professional recognition for a significant piece of social work practice or development including the application of learning from in-house training. Support will usually be from the learning and development team within their organisation.
The IAR offers the flexibility of two assessment points per year in March and October. More information is available from the agency reps in organisations who will manage submission of IAR portfolios to NISCC. All candidates must be registered social workers and enrolled on the PiP Framework to follow the IAR route.
