Vote for us! National Occupational Standards (NOS) project receives European Social Services Award shortlist

01 October 2026

The Northern Ireland Social Care Council (the Social Care Council) is proud to be part of the Skills for Care and Development Alliance’s Reshaping Workforce Standards project, which has been nominated for a European Social Services Award (ESSA) 2026 in the Public Sector Collaboration in Social Services category.

As part of the Skills for Care and Development Alliance, the Social Care Council contributed to this landmark collaborative UK-wide project, which brought together partners from across all four nations to develop the new National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Health and Social Care and Childcare Learning and Development.

Tracy Reid, Chief Executive, Social Care Council said:

“The awards celebrate excellence and innovation across the social services sector in Europe and our nomination reflects our dedication to supporting the social work and social care workforce who empower the people they support to live fulfilling, independent lives.

“Public voting is now open and we’d be grateful for your support to help this valuable work get recognised at the highest level.”

Online voting will be open until Monday 26 October.
