Applying for registration? Identity documentation

All applicants for registration with the Social Care Council are required to provide two forms of verified* ID with their application.

Verified means a copy signed and dated by a line manager.

Please provide one form of valid photographic ID from List 1 below.

List 1

  • Passport
  • Driver’s Licence
  • Electoral Card
  • National ID Card
  • UK Citizen Card

Plus

one from List 2 below

List 2

  • Birth certificate
  • Marriage certificate
  • Adoption certificate
  • Certificate of British nationality
  • Secondary school leaving certificate (Indian Applicant’s only).
  • Naturalisation certificate (from any country)

Three important things to note

  1. All ID provided must be photocopies (we do not accept originals) and all copies must be verified (signed and dated) by the individuals employer and/or line manager before being submitted.
  2. Verified copies of ID, can be either uploaded using the
  3. the ‘Upload a document’ function which can be found on the applicant’s online account  on My Portal or by emailing: registration@niscc.hscni.net.
     
    If none of the documents on List 2 (above) can be provided in addition to photographic ID, find useful information.

I don’t have a valid birth or marriage certificate, what should I do?
 
If you do not have any of the non-photographic documents found on List 2, the person you have asked to be your verifier must see the originals and sign and date photocopies of five of the following documents (one of each type) listed below.
 
P45/P60 (issued in the past 12 months).
Bank or building society.
Utility bill (not mobile phone).
Valid TV Licence (issued in the past 12 months).
Credit card statement (issued in the past three months).
Mortgage statement (issued in the past 12 months).
Work permit or visa (issued in the past 12 months).
Correspondence and/or documentation from the Benefits Agency and/or employment.
Service or the HMCR (issued within the past three months).
Valid vehicle registration document.
Court summons (issued in the past 12 months).
Valid NHS Card.
Addressed payslip (one from previous three months).
National Insurance Card number.
Exam certificate (e.g. G.C.S.E, N.V.Q etc).
Child Benefit Award notice (issued in the past 12 months).
60+ or senior (65+) smart pass issued by Translink.
yLink card issued by Translink.
 
Are you from outside the UK?
 
If you are a Non–UK National (but not a UK/Ireland passport holder)your endorser will have to indicate as part of their endorsement declaration on your application form that their organisation is satisfied that you have the ‘right to work in the UK.’ We do not by default require a copy of any document and/or access to evidence through the UK immigration service share code.
