Data about the social work and social care workforce

As regulator for the social work and social care workforce we provide regular updates on the data we receive as part of the registration progress, some of which is published on the Public Facing Register (the Register).

This data provides an overview of workforce demographics, the locations and the areas of care in which social workers and social care practitioners provide services, and allows us to track trends when they occur.

The Register experiences minor changes every day as people move in and out of the workforce by registering with us or removing themselves from the Register, or as students join and/or leave Northern Ireland Degree in Social Work course.

Registrant data is also available to view in real time from the live Dashboard below

Workforce development and reviews

From time to time we publish reports to inform our work. This can sometimes be as a result of our partnership working or a need to look at what data insights exist when we ask different questions from the Register’s data. We also routinely assess our workforce development initiatives through reviews and surveys with the social work and social care workforce and employers.
