Lunchtime Seminar - Eating, Drinking and Swallowing (Dysphagia) Awareness Session

This session is aimed at enhancing awareness and knowledge of dysphagia for staff supporting people with eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties.

Presented by Alison Ferris, AHP Consultant (Public Health Agency), Clare Stevenson, Dysphagia Co-ordinator (South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust), Jemma Jackson, Dysphagia Team Dietician, (Northern Health and Social Care Trust).

The session will have the following learning outcomes:

  • Understand what dysphagia is, and the associated health and wellbeing implications.
  • Understand how to support someone at risk of, or with, a diagnosis of dysphagia.
  • Embed best practice to support people with dysphagia.
  • Learn from scenarios.
