This Lunchtime seminar will be presented by Edel Walsh, Regional Social Work Lead (SPPG) and Lynsey Black and Paulene Burns, (NIFITC Trust Implementation Leads) and will guide attendees through the core principles, alongside the four core concepts and the 11 building blocks of the framework.
The Department of Health undertook a review of Regional Children’s Residential Services in 2018. One of the recommendations was that Northern Ireland should have a single regional framework focusing on Therapeutic Care.
The Northern Ireland Framework of Integrated Therapeutic Care (NIFITC) was designed to help Health and Social Care Trusts, their staff and partner agencies create integrated and collaborative processes through which trauma and attachment– focused, rights based services can be delivered.
This would enable all children and young people who are care experienced have the best chance of the life they deserve.
