The Northern Ireland Social Care Council (the Social Care Council) would like to invite you to join us for an Information Session and Workshop based around the review of National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Health and Social Care (HSC) and Children’s Care Learning and Development (CCLD)..

National Occupational Standards describe the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to do a particular job to a nationally recognised level of competence. These Standards form the basis of qualifications and training programmes required to work in social care services. This review will ensure they are up-to-date and reflect the skills and knowledge needed for different roles.

We want to engage with social care practitioners to:

  • share what has been achieved and findings so far
  • ensure that the NOS are current and reflect and support best practice
  • make sure that the NOS reflect current practice priorities
  • ensure gaps in the NOS are identified and addressed
  • take on board recommendations from those working in social care.

Places are limited so we recommend early booking to avoid disappointment.
