Resources for Employers

The Social Care Council works in partnership with employers, people who uses services and other key stakeholders from the independent, voluntary and statutory sectors.

The Council is also a partner in the Skills for Care and Development’ (SfCD) UK Alliance – the Sector Skills Council for those working in social work, social care, early years, children and young people’s services.

Our role is to support employers to recruit, retain and develop the right people with the right values and attitudes to meet the challenges of working in social care and social work. We do this by developing resources in partnership with employers and stakeholders.

Values Based Recruitment (VBR)

The Social Care Council has worked with Northern Ireland employers and people who use social care services to co-design and develop a toolkit for social care employers to support them to use and embed a values-based approach to the recruitment and retention of their workforce.
