Social Work Student - Degree in Social Work


 

The Honours Degree in Social Work is the recognised professional qualification for all Social Workers, as well as for Probation Officers and Education Welfare Officers in NI.

The Social Care Council is responsible for approving, monitoring and quality assuring the Degree in Social Work courses in NI. We also regulate the standards for taught modules and Practice Assessment.



Registration with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council

As part of your degree, you will be expected to undertake practice learning opportunities and this will not be possible unless you are registered with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council.


Work-based practice learning is an integral part of the Degree in Social Work. The practice learning experience aims to provide students with the opportunities to develop understanding, knowledge, skills, values and ethics in social work practice.
