Successful 'ACEs' Lunchtime Seminar

On Friday, 4 of October, we welcomed Sheina Rigg, Social Care Implementation Manager from The Safeguarding Board Northern Ireland, presenting her ‘Building an ACE aware and trauma sensitive workforce.

The audience, composed mostly of Social Workers from across the 5 trusts, had the opportunity of learning more about how Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), their potential impact on behaviour of children and adults and how by reducing them we have potential to improve outcomes for the whole of the population across the lifespan.The presentation can be downloaded from our events page.

During the seminar Sheina also announced the EITP Trauma Informed Practice Project, developed by The Safeguarding Board Northern Ireland in partnership with the HSC Leadership Centre. A train the trainer programme that will be delivered for the Level One ACE Awareness and Level Two Trauma Sensitive Approaches to Practice training.
